Today I noticed a yellow pages sitting outside my door (not sure how long it was there).  I’m wondering if anyone still uses yellow pages?  I can’t think of the last time I looked something up in there.  If I want to know the phone number of a business I just look it up on the internet.  I don’t really look by category – but for a specific business.   I even have the internet on my phone so I can look up a company’s website and actually dial the number off their website.

Of course this is bad news for anyone in the Yellow Pages business – as if no one is using the thing businesses are going to stop advertising in there.  This may be another one of those examples of a disruption in the economy due to technology trends.  Of course if you make websites for businesses then it’s good for you – as that’s more how people find them.  I bet my kids might never look at the things as they grow up….
